Work First New Jersey (WFNJ) - Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) and Transitional Child Care (TCC) Services:
Families which are deemed eligible by Case Management and participating in WFNJ will receive child care subsidy which will allow his/her participation in work related activities. Funding will also allow child care services or a specified period to families terminating TANF, this extended child care service provision is known as Transitional Child Care (TCC). New Jersey Cares for Kids (NJCK) Child Care Certificate Program:
· At Risk Child Care (ARCC) provides a child care subsidy, on a sliding scare to assist families who are working full-time and are at risk of welfare dependency. · Child Care Development Block Grant (CCDBG)/Regular provides funds on a sliding scale to low and moderate income families who are employed or participating in an education or training program full time. · Child Care Development Block Grant (CCDBG)/CPS funds are used to provide child care services to child care services to children under the Protective Supervision of DYFS. · Kinship Navigator—Provide a child care subsidy for relatives who have custody, guardianship of a relatives child. Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) Services:
This service provides information and counseling to parents about available child care options; comprehensive child care development information to parents, employers, community agencies and disseminates information to increase public awareness of child care issues.
You may receive child care referrals, which could be a listing of child care provides in Licensed Child Care Centers and/or Registered Family Day Care Homes. Also serves as a resource and training center for providers. All county residents are eligible for this service, regardless of income. These services are free of charge. Employment and Training Opportunities in Child Care:
Family Day Care (FDC) Registration Program - This program recruits and trains persons who wish to become Family Day Care Providers. Also ensures that appropriate health, safety, child development and supervision is provided for the children served through periodic home monitoring and inspection visits. Child Care Health Consultant
Funded by the New Jersey Department of Human Services, this important initiative reflects the commitment to create a system for health consultation to each county for child care programs serving infants and toddlers. With increasing demands for out-of-home child care, it is critical that New Jersey’s child care providers have access to resources and services that promote and maintain the health and safety of our youngest children in child care.
What does a Child Care Health Consultant do?
Child Care Health Consultants (CCHCs) provide guidance and technical assistance to child care providers regarding the health and safety of children in out-of-home child care settings. Depending on the agreement between the child care and the health professional, consultant activities may range from answering specific questions and providing telephone advice to scheduling regular on-site consultation visits, staff training and health supervision of children.
